Kim Illingworth

Starfish Lead & Bilingual Spanish Parent Educator

Kim, originally from Cleveland, OH, came to Cleveland, TN in 2002 to study at Lee University.  She graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in Human Development, her teacher certification and a minor in Spanish. She went on to teach in the Whitfield County School system in Dalton, GA, for 8 years.  During that time, she also received a Master’s degree in Non-Profit Management from the University of the Rockies.  Kim stopped teaching in the classroom in 2014 after becoming pregnant with her son Michael, and came to know the Starfish program when she enrolled as a prenatal mom.  While she also has an interpretation business with her husband, Guillermo, for Hispanic clientele, Kim’s passion for teaching, children, and the Spanish Language led her to become a part-time bilingual Parent Educator for Starfish in April 2018.  Even though she would love to be able to travel abroad again, Kim considers both of her jobs to be part of the home mission field, and is pleased to be able to make a difference in the community of Cleveland and Bradley County.
